Yellow Journalism

Yellow Journalism

Yellow journalism exploits, distorts, or exaggerates the news to create sensations and attract readers. It came up when the famous newspaper wars between William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer II. Both of these guys newspapers changed the the content of the newspaper by adding more sensationalized and it increased the use of cartoons and drawings in the papers. But ironically the term “Yellow Journalism” was credited to Joseph Pulitzer involvement in the conflict with Hearst. But now Pulitzer is famous for his journalistic achievement with the Pulitzer prize. I think that yellow journalism is a good thing even though like it all started between two people who had newspaper wars which is very ironic.
